Cr Owen thanked for council’s strong support of Sri Lankan community events

The Federation of Sri Lankan Organisations of Queensland presented Councillor Angela Owen (Calamvale Ward) with a plaque in recognition of her staunch support of events conducted by the FSOQ and its member organisations.

The presentation was made in appreciation of the Brisbane City Council’s support of Sri Lanka Day held last November at Rocks Riverside Park, Seventeen Mile Rocks.

FSOQ president Dr Jay Weerawardena thanked Cr Owen for the invaluable help she and council had provided to Sri Lankan community organisations over the past many years
